At an early age, through the streets of Pune, rode Gautam Taode, who had a knack for racing bikes. He was raised by a single parent and despite any hardships, his passion for bikes never faltered. In 2006, when he was introduced to mountain biking, his world towards racing shifted drastically. He took the world by shock with his talent on a mountain bike, speed is his motive and risk is his middle name. With that, he turned towards downhill racing. Ever since then, his dream has been to race and win the World Cup! He is the first Indian to compete in the downhill mountainbike championship in 2011, and the first Indian team to race in the Asian championships in Bali, Indonesia resulting in the Top 10 in 2013. 

Gautam Taode is the best card in the pack for India when it comes to mountain bike racing, and has the most experience when it comes to his sport. He has always been on the podium, whether it be in Nepal or India. He has recently been supported by Starkenn Giant bicycles, and has gotten his hands on a new Giant bike. His passion for Downhill racing has now become his full time job.
